Chemistry Final Project:
The final Chemistry project was a choice project where you had to make an experiment that was related to material science. Frist we came up with what our experiment was going to be and how we were going to test it. After you knew what your project was going to be you had to start your Write-Up and do your experiment. The write up consisted of an Intro, a methods, a conclusion, and a results section. After you completed your experiment you put the data into some form that is able to be presented.
My Final Project:
My project:
My project was testing the difference in performance between different materials in racing swim suits. I tested this by having people swim 50 yard Freestyles and collecting times to find an average. Then I judged the percentage change from the time they just swam and there all time best. CHALLENGES: Some of the challenges I faced where setting up a time todo my experiment. I had a lot of people participating and finding time that they could all help was difficult. I also struggled with controlling outside factors but I did the best I could and made the results as streamlined as possible. RESULTS: In the end I did get clear results from my experiment and found a clear winner between the three types of suits I was trying. I found the average of each of the swimmer races and then found which suit had the lowest percentage change of each of the races. SIP: The scientific inquire process is super important for people in the real world because it allows us too understand the world in a deeper way. By asking questions, testing theories, and gathering results people are able to gain a larger amount of knowledge about the world around them. |
